We all know how important it is to be fit and stay healthy, but is it possible to do so without going to the gym? Find out here…
So, here’s the thing….not everyone is suited to get fit in a gym. For some people they don’t like the environment of a gym, whilst for others, they don’t have the time to attend a gym regularly.
So, what can you do to still stay fit without going to the gym.
- Take Up A Sport.
Do a sport you love. I know many people who are not part of a gym, but still keep fit by playing golf, badminton, tennis, football, joining their local netball team, playing hockey and the like. They enjoy being part of a team while getting some exercise. - Use What You Were Born With.
Most of the time you don’t need any special equipment to stay fit…your own body weight is enough. A majority of my own exercises are body weight. You can do things like squats, lunges, press ups, burpees and the plank. Set up a range of exercises in the form of a circuit and perform them several times for a good workout. - Use Simple Equipment At Home.
Using tools like skipping ropes, hoola hoops, resistance bands, dumbbells, rebounders are great in helping you to stay fit. You can use bottles of water or cans of food as weights. If you have room and can accommodate a treadmill, cross trainer or a Pilates Reformer machine in your home, then that can form part of your home gym too. - Walk.
We have become a society that heavily depends on transportation, this makes our muscles lazy. Make the most of every opportunity and walk. Not only is this good for your heart and respiratory system, but generally is a good, overall workout for the body. - Dance.
Dancing is a great form of exercise that keeps you fit and it doesn’t have to be fast either. You can dance in your home to music you love or join a local dance class, meet new people and get fit at the same time.
That’s just a few ways you can stay fit without going to the gym. There are many more options. If you want to broaden your horizons beyond the gym, then choose any of options stated above.
